Tiago
Owner, co-founder, and teacher
A movement practitioner, performer, dancer, and eternal beginner, Tiago has built his practice at the intersection of sports science, fine arts, dance, and theatre. His work, classes and research explore the body as a powerful tool for function, intelligence, and artistic expression, drawing educational values from pioneers such as Ido Portal, Fighting Monkey, Peter Jasko Wim Wanderkeybus, David Zambrano, Martin Kilvady, Billy Barry, Tomislav English and Alexander Vantournhout, Shai Faran among many others.
He also teaches outside of Movement Lisboa school, in references such as Estúdios Vitor Cordon, CAMPUS, Oficina Zero, ACT School of Actors, Companhia Olga Roriz and in international Movement Schools. He performs, and organises international events within the Movement culture. In 2016 co-founded Movement Lisboa, Portugal’s first Movement school, and more recently expanded the practice to a second school - Movement Porto.
Always curious, relentlessly playful, and happily humbled by the body, he remains what he considers his most important role: a student.
